Meet Mrs Jones and her Guest Tutors

My passion for baking and cake decorating stems from many an afternoon spent with my Mum learning the intricacies of it all. Over the years this has been consolidated by achieving a professional diploma with PME Masters Certificates in Sugarpaste, Sugar Flowers, Royal Icing and Piping, and attending Masterclasses with the very best professional cake decorators in the country. I am also the Chairwoman of the Glasgow Branch of the British Sugarcraft Guild, a member of the Scottish Association of Master Bakers and a founding member of the Glasgow Baking Club. It is also an honour to be the baking expert for the online tutorial library for Designer Cakes and one of their first Accredited Tutors.

From our comfortable and well appointed kitchen at home in Glasgow we aim to share the joys of baking and cake decorating with you, whether to teach or simply to bake for your pleasure. Our classes cover a wide variety of specialist baking and cake decorating skills, including how to start your own baking and cake decorating business from home. Look out for our new one and two day courses, and those being taught by prestigious cake decorators whose expertise we are very proud, and lucky, to share from our kitchen.

We are also very excited about our online shop. We have selected the best of cake decorating equipment which is used regularly in our kitchen and which we hope you will find useful. We also run a cake stand and cake tin hire service.

If you would prefer to have a particular baking or cake decorating session, our one-to-one ‘You and Mrs Jones’ classes focus on any aspects of baking and cake decorating to suit your own requirements. We also run baking and cake decorating parties for any type of celebration, including Hen parties and children's parties, which are great fun. Of course, we can always bring the classes to your location by special arrangement. Please do not hesitate to contact us to chat things through.

If learning to bake and decorate cakes is not your cup of tea, we also specialise in delicious, bespoke celebration cakes to order. Our vanilla sponge cake was highly commended in the awards for Scottish Baker of the Year 2014.

So, please explore the website, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Google+. Remember, delicious cakes really can make your day better!

Some Kind Words

  • Just a wee note to say a big thank you for the lovely cupcakes you made for me. They were absolutely lovely and went down well with all the nurses and doctors at Wishaw General Hospital and they have asked for more. My Xmas order is in with you!

  • Double Height, Flowers and Stripes

Many thanks for the photo and notes - it was a great day.  Katherine had a ball and can't wait to do more decorating.  Perhaps I should have started with something more basic - don't think I will ever look at fondant in the same way again! Salome was wonderful and extremely patient. Kindest regards, Amanda

  • Thank you, Sheila, for baking Harry's first birthday cake. It was beautifully decorated and tasted as good as it looked. ALL our guests were raving about it and your delectable cupcakes. Those caterpillars, toadstools, butterflies and grass were fabulous. I expect our friends will be giving you a call in the future for some of your delicious cakes. Thanks again!
