Cake and Cupcake FAQs
How much do your cakes and cupcakes cost?
This depends on your chosen style of cake and cupcake and the amount of work required to bake and decorate them. Please contact Mrs Jones for further details by email: email@example.com or telephone: 07714 244121.
What size are your cupcakes?
The most popular size is 6cm (two and a half inches in ‘old money’) in diameter.
What is the size of your minimum order?
Our minimum order is a single tier cake or 12 cupcakes.
How far in advance do I need to place an order?
We bake and decorate our cakes and cupcakes to order and usually require 48 hours notice no matter what size your order is. However, we bake each day, so you could always phone the kitchen to find out if we have space in the oven for another order: 07714 244121.
Is a deposit required for each order?
A deposit of 50% is required when an order is placed. The remainder of the total fee is payable 21 days prior to the collection or delivery of the order. For orders placed less than 21 days in advance, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Jones. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone: 07714244121.
What are your cakes made from?
We are really particular about ingredients for baking so we always use free range eggs and Fair Trade products where possible. They not only make our cakes and cupcakes tastier but we feel that we are doing a little bit of good along the way.
When will my cakes be baked?
They are made to order on the day required, where possible. They really do taste their best when fresh.
What about any allergies?
Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Jones if you have any special dietary requirements when placing an order. Email: email@example.com or telephone: 07714 244121.
How should I store my cakes and cupcakes?
They really are best eaten fresh and certainly within a short period of time after purchasing. Keep them in the box we supply them in and away from direct sunlight. Never put them in a fridge because the sugar content will be affected.
Do you offer a consultation service for cakes for special events?
Yes, of course, and we always recommend a consultation or 'tasting session' to ensure that we meet your requirements for the event. Please contact us for further details by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephoning 07714 244121.
For large events do you set up cakes and cupcakes at the venue?
Yes, we are delighted to offer this service, for a fee. We also have a selection of stylish cake and cupcake stands available for hire. Please contact Mrs Jones for further details by email: email@example.com or by telephone: 07714 244121.
What about delivery?
None of our cakes are ever sent by post. Most customers prefer to pick up their cake and cupcake orders directly from our kitchen in Glasgow. However, if you wish to have your cakes delivered, a delivery charge will apply. Currently, we deliver within the central belt of Scotland. All orders must be paid in full prior to delivery. Please contact Mrs Jones for further details. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone: 07714 244121.
Azlinda, East Kilbride
I just want to thank Mrs Jones so very much for a great private class recently under the 'You and Mrs Jones' scheme. I had a lovely, relaxing but productive morning and I certainly learnt loads from her. The informal, friendly setting of her lovely country kitchen added to the enjoyment of the day. The handouts were very informative and the whole experience was great fun. Mrs Jones is a really approachable person with great personality and certainly an excellent teacher. Due to her encouragement and confidence, I am now taking the first steps to setting up my own cupcake business. I can't thank you enough Mrs Jones!

No. A light lunch is provided for all our full day classes. Plenty tea, coffee, soft drinks and home baked goodies are also provided no matter what class you join us in the kitchen for. We all need that sugar rush at some point in the day!
Do I need to bring along any equipment?
All ingredients and equipment is provided during your class in our kitchen. You only need to bring along an apron, and perhaps a small notebook and pen, in case you would like to make some notes. We have a small selection of our favourite cupcake and cake decorating tools available for purchase. We only sell tools which we use regularly and that are used by our students in our classes.

Can I buy any baking and cake decorating equipment on the day of my class?
Yes. We have a small selection of our favourite cupcake and cake decorating tools available for purchase which we are happy to advise on. We only sell tools which we regularly use, and which students use in our classes.
Will I be given a refund if I cancel my booked class?
Unfortunately, no. Classes book up well in advance and late cancellations mean that your place cannot be given to anyone else. Please be careful when you book a class as the fee is non refundable. Why not consider letting someone else attend the class in your place? If so, please do not forget to inform us about your change in plans as soon as possible and an alternative date may be offered subject to availability. In the unfortunate event that we have to cancel a class, students whose bookings are affected will be transferred to a suitable alternative.
